Bibles to download
Free Bibles in USFM format, ready to load into NanoBible.
How to load one
- Download the zip file you want from the list below. Don't unzip it.
- Android: open your Downloads in Files, press and hold the zip to select it, tap the Share icon (circled below), and pick NanoBible. Or open NanoBible, tap the book icon, Add or replace Bible, then Choose a file.
- iPhone and iPad: in Files, tap the zip and choose NanoBible (use Share, then NanoBible, if it doesn't appear), or use Choose a file inside the app.
- Wait a few seconds while it loads, then start reading. Loading a new Bible replaces the one you had.
You can also paste the address of a zip file into the app's Download box.

More places to find Bibles
NanoBible reads standard USFM (.usfm, .sfm) and USX files, singly or in a zip.
- Open.Bible: openly licensed Bibles from Biblica and others, in many languages. Their files carry the copyright notice, which NanoBible shows.
- eBible.org: over a thousand translations, many in USFM, including minority languages.
- unfoldingWord and Door43: open Bible texts, including the Literal Text, kept as USFM files.
- Free Bible Version: a modern English translation that can be freely copied.
- Scripture Earth: scripture in thousands of languages. Which file formats are offered varies, so look for USFM or USX.
- Digital Bible Library: the source many publishers use. A free account and the publisher's permission are needed for each Bible.
- USFM documentation: what the format is, if you are preparing your own files.
We don't own, host or check these Bibles. Please respect each Bible's licence and give credit as it asks.
